THANK YOU

As a result of much soul searching and deliberation, I have decided to withdraw from the 2009 race for mayor of Fort Lauderdale.  After nine years as a City Commissioner and more than a decade as a community leader, I have reached a fork in the road that offers me more than one possible path for my future.  I have decided to take the fork that leads me away from elected office and offers me the opportunity to spend more time pursuing my personal goals and interests.

I am proud of what we’ve accomplished in District IV and throughout our fabulous City!  I will continue to sit on the City Commission until March 2009.  I’m not planning on fading into the sunset -- as I’ve said numerous times, Fort Lauderdale is my home and I can’t imagine being anywhere else.  As always, I will persist in making Fort Lauderdale a better place, just as I’ve done during my time in office.

I’ve been blessed by the support, inspiration and guidance of the residents of Fort Lauderdale residents, and for that I’m forever grateful.”
