The Cindi I Know

Sister Vivian Gomez
Principal
St. Jerome Catholic School

Sister Vivian GomezI’m a big fan of Cindi Hutchinson.  I was her 5th grade teacher.  It was 1967, and Cindi was in my homeroom.  Back then, just as now, Cindi was a go-getter.  She has never been afraid of any challenge.

She brings a sense of compassion to whatever she’s working on, whether it’s serving as one of the leaders for St. Jerome’s annual Family Festival, taking care of her mother, Virginia, or fighting for what’s right for Fort Lauderdale in the Commission chambers.

She has never forgotten why she got into politics in the first place – to help people have better lives, and to make Fort Lauderdale a better place to live.

You know, Cindi has lived just down the street from St. Jerome all her life.  She grew up with us, and we grew up with her.  Fort Lauderdale has grown up with her.

I’m proud to see our Cindi taking on her next big challenge.  She puts herself in our shoes everyday, and together we’ll all take one giant step forward into the future.
